The Driest

Driest (or ‘dries’) is an old Dutch word for degraded and/or fallow land temporarily used for grazing. Possibly, the word ‘driest’ has the same root as ‘drie’ (three), implying the piece of land wasn’t ploughed for a period of three years. We’re certainly farming on very poor soil indeed. But little by little we’re managing to improve the soil and to get rid of the many weeds that covered our land. And all this without using chemicals, for we’re proud holders of the SKAL certificate for biological farming.
